CUTTING YOUR HAIR DOES NOT MAKE IT GROW FASTER

Ok, so we’ve all heard this before! Obviously cutting your hair doesn’t make it grow FASTER, but it does help it stay STRONGER while you’re growing it out and you won’t have 20 million little bits of hair flying off every time you brush it! Who’s guilty of trying to grow their hair out but feeling like it barely grows at all for months?

Get. A. Haircut. We are always asked how often you should get a trim if you’re growing out your hair. I always say with the change of seasons! If your hair grows slowly, maybe every 4 months or so. If your goal is to grow your hair out healthily, regular trims are essential to help prevent those pesky split ends. Even as a hairstylist I’m guilty of waiting too long between trims!

Let’s talk split ends! You know those little white balls on the ends of your hair that are holding on for dear life? Those will likely break off the next time you heat style or brush your hair.

And then GUESS WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!

It turns into another split end until eventually your hair has 3757292 different lengths in it and you only have 20 hairs reaching to the perimeter of your length! Well, that was a little exaggerated but you catch my drift.

But just so you know, when it’s time for a trim we will literally just clean up your ends by trimming exactly what you want off. And everything in between your haircut that can’t actually be cut, we will do a split ends trim. It’s tedious and takes time but it will make all the difference when growing your hair out. This is an amazing time to add-on a treatment to your thirsty locks as well!
